A Relaxed Winter Wedding at Callendar House
On Friday the 14th of November, I travelled through to Falkirk to capture the wedding of Adele and Aidan at the stunning Callendar House. While it was a freezing cold day, the venue looked absolutely beautiful - and sometimes those crisp winter conditions create the most atmospheric images.
A Beautiful Arrival at Callendar House
One of the highlights for me was capturing Adele’s arrival in a gorgeous car, where she was met by her dad outside the historic façade of Callendar House. These moments are always incredibly special - full of anticipation, emotion, and those fleeting glances that only last a second but mean everything.
Although the weather took a turn and rain arrived after the ceremony, we still managed to get group shots outdoors, along with some lovely, relaxed portraits of Adele and Aidan together before heading on to the reception.
Relaxed, Unposed Wedding Photography
In the lead-up to the wedding, I spoke with Adele and Aidan several times, and they were very clear about what they wanted: natural, relaxed, unposed photography that allowed them and their guests to simply enjoy the day.
That approach shapes everything I do - blending into the background, letting moments unfold naturally, and capturing genuine connection rather than forcing anything that doesn’t feel authentic to the couple.
A Lively Reception & Creative Dancefloor Shots
The celebrations then moved from Callendar House to a local bowling club, where the atmosphere shifted into full party mode. This gave me the perfect opportunity to bring out the flash and experiment with shutter drag techniques, creating energetic images that really showcased the fun, movement, and joy on the dancefloor.
These kinds of images are a great way to visually reflect the personality of the evening - loose, joyful, and full of life.
Every Wedding, Treated Individually
No two couples are the same, and I firmly believe that no two wedding galleries should feel the same either. My goal with every wedding is to listen carefully to what each couple wants and deliver a collection of images that truly reflects their personalities, their energy, and their story - not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Adele and Aidan’s wedding was relaxed, full of warmth despite the cold, and a pleasure to be part of. I’m so glad I was able to capture it for them.
